Description

For more than 50 years, John Reilly has been developing his unique and truly inspirational style of painting, capturing stories from the Bible and images from the natural world. John studied art at Kingston-on-Thames before setting up a studio for art and ceramics on the Isle of Wight. In later years he has given up ceramics to focus exclusively on his painting. His work is widely collected and has been exhibited in cathedrals and galleries across the country.
This book contains 50 colour plates of John's beautiful paintings and represents a lifetime of work by this visionary spiritual artist. John's view of the world and the inter-connectedness of all things is captured in these exquisitely detailed expressions of colour and light. Each painting is accompanied by passages from the Bible which inspired it. There is also a section comparing John's work with religious painting throughout history.
